Historical Marcello Theater

The Theatre of Marcellus (Teatro Marcello) in Rome is an ancient Roman theater built between 13 and 11 BC, commissioned by Emperor Augustus in honor of his nephew Marcellus. It could originally hold around 20,000 spectators and was used for dramatic performances. Today, the theater's outer structure is still partially intact, with its distinctive arches and columns, while the interior has been repurposed for modern buildings. The Theater of Marcellus is an important symbol of Rome's architectural and cultural heritage.
